![]() It works the same whether using the engine running or shore power. WEATHERPRO POWER AWNING ARM MANUALĪnyone know if there is a manual override? Keep fearing the day it will not retract. So far the attached segment has been sufficient for most sites I've had this summer. I had the full screen staked out in a heavy rain and it seems to have moved the awning in it's track as the arms no longer retract into the mounting bars, unless I push sideways on the front arm while my wife activates the awning. It's a state of mind." Pole Sitter in Douglas Adams MOSTLY HARMLESSĪwning tension is too strong for me to slide it in the rail. My awning is a Carefree so maybe its a little different. My awning comes straight out just like Southwind98's and rolls up the 4 foot section just fine but it does struggle with the additional 6 foot section added so that piece only gets put on if the west sun is on the street side. The basic two problems you will run into will be that the awning will not retract and it will not deploy. One will be that there is a wire loose or frayed cutting the power to the motor.Īll you have to do if that is the source of the problem is replace the wire. The next common source for these two common problems would be the power button. It can malfunction due to corrosion, rust, wear and tear and again you will probably have to replace the control button.Ī third source would be the motor itself. It can wear down over the years and simply malfunction, overheat, have a short in the wiring, and other small issues. While you may be able to fix these problems yourself, it may be best to call in a qualified repairman as they have the tools to properly diagnose the problem. ![]() Other simple sources would be a fuse was blown or the breaker tripped for some reason. ![]() They were wrong.Make sure to check the obvious first to save you from any embarrassing moments when a repairman finds them.įinally, you may have a bad switch in the control panel. PS, originally Dometic stated they thought it was a "pairing" problem and when replacement sensors were sent out, they sent the sensor and a new control board. But, when I have your problem replacing the motor fixes it. Yes, there is a built in overload, not sure if at motor or in the control box. Now, your problem-odds are the motor is BAD and needs replaced. They dropped that sensor and went to another type and controller that the sensor is on top the front awning arm. So, I am telling you to remove the cable or turn the toggle OFF for the wind sensor. If the modular connection got corroded, it failed. IF the COM cable was a little bit too long (18 foot or shorter) the system failed to function correctly. OK, the standard OLD style (page 5 on the manual) was notorious for false operation. That could still be a problem because it came out of the box with switches 1,3 and 5 "on". I ass-u-med the dip switched were all "off" like with the old controller. We're close to selling out but I need to fix the bug before I sell it. At least I figured out how to get it closed and get on the road if it completely fails again. It's working now but it also sometimes stops and has to reset when closing. That's when I found the replacement with an extra wire. I had to go into the controller and bypass everything to get on the road. With my old controller it tripped and finally failed to reset. The motor seems to overload, trip and stay off 2 or 3 times when in the process of closing. I got the boxes swapped out but still have a bug. He got me to Customer Services but they weren't any help either. Don't know what's next if it doesn't work. ![]() This 3307930.002 is also out of production and came without any wiring details, although it was unused. I plan to keep trying to get some help before installing this replacement but if all else fails I'll install it without using the one brown and white wire pray for the best. I tried to get some help from the coach manufacturer, Tiffin and got a promise from their tech to call me back if they can find anything. If anyone has an answer I would appreciate it very much. I have no idea what the brown and white wire does but I'm hoping it won't interfere with the controller performing just like the 3330917.01 did. The internal appearance of he 930 looks exactly the same. ![]() The wiring harness is quite different but I can dispose of this and and use the old wiring harness, less the brown and white wire. 3307917.001 is no longer in production and I, in a desperate move, found and purchased part 3307930.002, which also no longer produced, is identical internally except there is one extra brown and white wire in the 330930.002 that didn't exist in the old existing controller. My Dometic awning controller, which is Part No. I'm posting this on the odd chance that someone else has faced the same situation. ![]()
